A lot of team leaders choose to stick with traditional brokerage models but it’s not always the best choice for our business. Creating a non-traditional brokerage model can help us create a working environment where everybody wins.
Traditional brokerages typically stop team leaders from offering certain incentives, causing top agents to look elsewhere to advance their careers. This causes a lot of team leaders to train agents for retention, rather than to allow them to survive on their own.
Is there an option that allows team leaders to invest in their agents, without the threat of losing them to other teams?
On this episode, host of the Massive Agent Podcast, Dustin Brohm joins me to discuss how to maximize our businesses with non-traditional brokerages.
Takeaways + Tactics
- Choose the system where everyone wins
Non-traditional brokerages like eXp and Keller Williams allow team leaders to bring agents into the brokerage and keep them in their downline. This means that even if the agent chooses to leave the team but stay in the brokerage, leaders will continue to benefit from their success – and the agent continues to benefit from great training. - Invest in the future
Non-traditional models allow team leaders to benefit from their downlines, even if they choose to retire – or in the event they pass away. Models like this are will-able, so team leaders taking this route can plan for their futures and provide for their families. - Stay in control
One of the major reasons so many team leaders stay with traditional brokerages is because they want to ensure they have control over their agents’ activities. In a non-traditional model, we can encourage agents to participate in training and workshops by offering leads as an incentive.
